Review of “The Best Breast” by Terrye Tebbetts
Every year, tens of thousands of books hit the market that deal with every facet of self improvement one can imagine, and just like tummy tucks and face lifts, breast augmentation also has its numerous critics and supporters. The hard part is finding a well researched book that actually deals with the issue of breast augmentation fairly, while giving a critical eye at plastic surgery. One of the better books to do this over the last few years has been “The Best Breast” by Terrye Tebbetts. Although the author does end up recommending surgery to its readers, a point of view that many people don’t agree with, it does give a good look at the impact, and the mistakes, that can happen with surgery and why so many women are in search of alternative ways to improve their bust.
Probably the most difficult thing about finding a well written book on breast augmentation is that most of them are written by doctors who simply can’t put down the medical-speak long enough to effectively communicate their points to their readers, the majority of whom aren’t doctors. So it is refreshing to report that this book excels at giving a plain-language look at the honest plusses and minuses of plastic surgery. The author isn’t a surgeon looking to pad his or her bank account by recommending new breasts to everyone who cracks open the book, just a concerned woman bent on making sure women are honestly informed.
Now, while the author ends up giving surgery the thumbs up, as long as it’s an informed decision, the book doesn’t cover much in the way of alternative and all natural choices. With a few chapters on breast enhancement pills, creams and gums, this book would have been close to perfect.
